Hi and welcome to the final week of the Permission to Rest Immersion.

I am so proud of us for showing up to our practices this past month. It has been such a nourishing journey.

I am truly grateful to have been practicing in community with you for the last few weeks

. Thank you for showing up to your practices and to our group discussions. A deep bow to everyone who showed up in our conversations.

In our final session, I guide you through two practices, Resting In Safety and Visioning a Rested Life. Rough time stamps below to give you a sense of the structure of the session.

If you were not in the live session today please feel free to check in and share in the thread below. And if you were in the live and want to share here too you are more than welcome.

Rest Practice: Resting In Safety

Learning to rest often presents many opportunities to bring awareness to the places within our bodies and our culture where we can or cannot access safety. This simple practice is an invitation to notice what we gravitate toward and the ways that our systems find safety in places that are easy to overlook.

Take some time to journal on where you tap into safety during your day. It could be by wearing a particular piece of clothing that helps anchor your nervous system or the smell of a flower or favorite tree. Other ideas to explore are the objects that you keep close, the places in the world where you feel a sense of belonging, or the loved ones who have the capacity to hold your heart and attune to the fullness of your system.

Reach for this practice anytime your nervous system needs soothing or the reminder that you can connect with flickers of safety even in the midst of our challenged lives. When you give yourself a few moments to practice on a regular basis, your system will begin to orient toward resting in safety. Like rest, this practice is cumulative. Each time you choose to notice even micro moments of safety in your everyday, it can lead to the deeper rest you are called to embody

Rest Practice: Visioning A Rested Life

There is so much that gets in the way of our ability to cultivate presence and increase our capacity to rest. The practice of holding a vision for a future rested life can anchor us during moments when rest feels tough or inaccessible. Those days will come for all of us.

This visioning practice is integrative by nature because it reminds us of the resources we already have within and reveals a path toward becoming more evolved, rested members of our communities. Engaging with this practice doesn’t exclude us from human experiences that can deplete and exhaust us, like aging, illness, oppression, or loss. What it does offer is a pathway to our inherent love and wisdom, a way back to rest, a way back to nature, and a way home.
